Civic Engagement
MJTTF provides available resources to individuals in need, at risk, or those suffering adverse living conditions and displacement. MJTTF organizes efforts to make interventions at the micro and mezzo levels, while continuing to establish partnerships that connect communities to make an impact at the macro level.
MJTTF Canvassing New Orleans, Louisiana, dedicated time to provide clothing and a scalp washing for a Jane Doe being ridiculed for asking for food to eat. MJTTF’s action inspired people to share plate food with her. MJTTF advocated for mutual respect from the restaurant worker and JANE DOE.
Amidst the Paris Olympics 2024, MJTTF provided food, water, prayers, and hope to the people who needed or asked for assistance.
During MJTTF’s international educational tour, MJTTF sought out board members of The University of the West Indies to present a scholarship opportunity for university students at risk or in need. This was part of connecting with the Barbados community and reaching out to the exceptional leaders of tomorrow to provide assistance now.
In Queens, New York, MJTTF ‘s civic engagement took place observed an elderly man who required assistance standing and ambulating. Another person picked him up, then dropped him back onto the concrete, and John Doe sustained injuries. MJTTF provided first aid, consoled the man, and informed him of how to protect himself and prevent similar injuries.
